Entertainment at Cheverly Day 2015: Imani

Throughout the week, we'll feature the great performers that will join us on Cheverly Day 2015. Today, we are excited to present Imani...

Jazz Times called Imani "An espresso - voiced song-weaver of rich, earthy texture and stunning vibrancy". As a vocalist, you could not ask for a more world class virtuoso.

Imani has been on numerous recordings and there is no question that the music she conjures follows the same route. Her illustrious talents have graced many albums and soundtracks, including the National Geographic Television’s Explorer Series, most notably the Emmy-nominated film, the Jane Goodall Biography. She has also graced the stages of many festivals and venues, such as the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, Curaçao Jazz Festival, San Antonio Jazz Festival and the Montreal International Jazz Festival.

IMANI the group, is a warm, energetic unit that reaches out for one reason, to connect with you. Their spirited sound is a captivating, infectious and undeniable musical synergy that will become a part of you! IMANI is Imani, Jon Ozment on piano, Pepe González on bass, and Greg Holloway on drums.

Enjoy this performance of Iris, and see Imani perform live at Cheverly Day, 2:30pm.

Advertise with us!

Cheverly Day 2015 is drawing near -- May 16 -- and we are looking for community groups, organizations and businesses to join us. This is a great way to get your business or organization in front of a large and enthusiastic audience, and we hope you'll show your support for Cheverly Day by advertising with us. Space is available on both our newly redesigned website and right here on the blog. Ad rates have remained the same since 2012 (complete information at on the "Advertising" link on the top right on our website) and town-recognized community groups receive half-price rates. Ads (with links to your website) remain up through January 1, 2016, so it's a great way to reach the community for quite a long time. As always, I am happy to help you create the perfect ad for your organization, or you can use an ad that we've posted in prior years. For more information about advertising options, please contact Kathryn Andrews.

We're also looking for community groups and organizations to host a table/activity this year -- please let David Thorpe know if that's something you might be interested in. Recognized community groups are eligible for a free table throughout the day (2-6pm) on May 16.

We think you'll agree, celebrating all that's wild in Cheverly -- whether animals, trees, trails, or people -- is going to be a lot of fun, and we're looking forward to a great Keep Cheverly Wild event. Please join Cheverly Day 2015 as an advertiser and support this special community celebration again this year. We also invite you to share this email with local groups and businesses that might be interested in reaching the Cheverly community.
