CHVRun 2015 is Sunday, May 10 (that's tomorrow!)

CHVRun is tomorrow morning and the forecast looks great! Here's what you need to know to get ready...

DOWNLOAD THE TIMING APP:
We'll be timing all of the runners, but you also have the option of downloading the timing app to your smart phone or tablet. Go to webscorer.com or iTunes and download the "Webscorer Race & Lap Timer" app. Once it's loaded, you can select "Download Races" "Recent Registrations" and then use the filters to narrow in on CHVRun Annual 5K Race. From here, you can track your own time and the overall results from your smart phone or tablet!

REGISTRATION AND PACKET PICK-UP:
Registration and packet pick-up will begin at 7:30 a.m. at the Cheverly Community Center, 6401 Forest Road, Cheverly. Please arrive no later than 8:15 a.m. We will start the 5K runners promptly at 8:30 a.m., followed by the 2K runners and walkers.

PARKING:
You will NOT be able to park in the Cheverly Community Center or Town Park parking lots. Anyone who can walk to the Community Center is highly encouraged to do so. Those who must drive are encouraged to park in the parking lot for the Cheverly United Methodist Church, a short walk from the Community Center (parking lot is at the corner of Forest Road and Park Way).

5K COURSE:
The 5K course winds through the lovely (and hilly!) east side of Cheverly. The course is well-marked, and you will see many volunteers stationed along the course. There will be two water stations along the course. The course map is posted here and to our Facebook page.

AFTER THE RACE:
There will be free water and snacks for participants near the finish line. The top three men and women finishers will be awarded medals after they cross the finish line, but we will not have a formal medal ceremony.

QUESTIONS?? Email chvrun@gmail.com

See you in the morning!

CHVRun 2015 is only days away!

Have you already registered for CHVRun 2015? Sunday morning forecasts call for gorgeous weather -- a perfect day to begin Mother's Day with family and friends. There's still time to register and ensure that you receive one of the great t-shirts from this year's race, so do it today!

The 5k race check-in opens at 7:30am in front of the Cheverly Community Center, and the race begins at 8:30. We also invite those who don't run to join in our 2k Fun Walk -- can't think of a better way to celebrate moms than by sharing a stroll or a run on May 10.

Visit our website for the race map, volunteer opportunities, and more, and we'll see YOU at the race!

CHVRun: Join us...we need volunteers!

We are still looking for volunteers to help with race logistics on Sunday, May 10. Volunteers are needed for the following:

  • Registration beginning at 7:15 AM on Sunday
  • Route monitoring beginning at 8:00 AM
  • If you live along or adjacent to the route, consider monitoring an intersection beginning at 8:20 AM
  • Finish line beginning at 8:30 AM

This is a great way for students who need service hours to get them, for organizations to participate in a group activity that the community will see, or for anyone to show their support of our annual race. We need YOU!

If you can lend a hand, please contact Nikki Hayes or Glen Barton...and thanks!

Time is running out to register for CHVRun 2015!

Begin a new family tradition this year: Start Mother’s Day at CHVRun on May 10 at 8:30am. Dads, give the moms in your life a special treat this Mother's Day: Let them sleep in while you brew a pot of coffee, pack up the kids, and head out for an hour or so. Or mom's let dad and the kids come cheer you on while you show them how it's really done!

Join us for the kickoff to all the Cheverly Day events on the Sunday prior Cheverly Day (and yes, it is Mother’s Day!) Guess what, dads? You won't even have to cook breakfast for the family! After you work up an appetite running or walking you can stop the annual Mother's Day breakfast sponsored by the St. Ambrose Catholic Church and Cheverly United Methodist Church Men's Clubs. Begin a new family tradition this year and get this special holiday off to a healthy, active start!

We're also looking for volunteers to help on race day. This is a great way for students who need service hours to get them, or for anyone to show their support. If you can lend a hand, please contact Nikki Hayes, and thanks!
